The fruit for this wine was grown in our home vineyard, resting at 1,400 feet in the foothills of California’s Santa Cruz Mountains above Los Gatos. Planted in 1999, there are approximately 650 vines on this sloping one-acre vineyard site that produced just over three tons of fruit for the 2007 harvest. The grapes were hand harvested early in the morning and transported directly to the winery in small picking lugs. They were then immediately whole cluster pressed and fermented and aged in French oak barrels. The 2007 vintage Chardonnay showcases fresh apple blossom and tropical fruit aromas. On the palate there are flavors of crisp apple, pear and fig with nuances of melon and lemon. These flavors combine well with spice layers and rich texture provided by our careful use of oak to showcase the wine’s depth and diversity. This integration leads to a vibrant and refreshing finish. – GJ Thirty-Eight Dollars Per 750ml Bottle Click here to download winemaker notes (Adobe PDF format) Order online or download our wine order request form (Adobe PDF format) |

We are very excited about the Syrah grapes from John Madden's Livermore Valley vineyard. John and Peggy are fellow ABC sports commentators, and during a lunch in New York City, John learned we wanted to produce Syrah. He graciously offered us grapes from his family vineyard and we were happy to accept! Madden Ranch has 20 acres of Concannon clone Syrah—one of the oldest Syrah clones in California—all on 5BB rootstock. Grapes were harvested on September 25, 2006 and were taken to our winery where a 3 day cold soak was followed by yeast inoculation. The wine was aged in French oak for 14 months before bottling. Swirling a glass of the deeply purple colored 2006 Madden Ranch Syrah releases intense aromas of blueberry and blackberry with notes of smoked meat, cedar, leather, vanilla and brown sugar. Tastes reveal ripe dark fruit with hints of black pepper, roasted coffee bean, caramel and smoky oak. The Madden Ranch Syrah finishes with vibrant fruit that is integrated with the ample tannins and generous acidity. — GJ Forty Dollars Per 750ml Bottle Click here to download winemaker notes (Adobe PDF format) Order online or download our wine order request form (Adobe PDF format) |

These grapes come from a carefully tended hillside vineyard in the Santa Cruz Mountains near Los Gatos. The wine was barrel aged in French oak for 14 months to provide additional structure and balance. This is an excellent example of what a coastal climate Syrah should be. The Black Ridge Vineyard Syrah has a lively interplay between fruit and spice aromas with cranberry, blackberry and dark cherry intertwining with scents of vanilla, brown sugar and wild mushrooms. Flavors of blueberry jam and sour cherry layered with spice box and cinnamon evoke bygone memories while the lush tannins allow this wine to complement hearty meat dishes. Your patience will be rewarded as this wine evolves in years to come. — GJ Forty Dollars Per 750ml Bottle Click here to download winemaker notes (Adobe PDF format) Order online or download our wine order request form (Adobe PDF format) |

Choreography represents our role of creating the stage for our vines and grapes to achieve their highest expression in the vineyards and at the winery. The grapes for this wine come from vineyards near Yountville that are managed by the Nord family, a family with a distinguished tradition in Napa Valley winegrowing. In the glass this Cabernet Sauvignon based wine shows its deep ruby color with purple hues. As it opens in the glass the beautiful aromas of black cherry, raspberry, black currant and coffee along with nuances of dark chocolate, caramel and mint emerge and showcase its complexity. On the palate it delivers sweet dark fruits, cassis, mocha and smoky oak with a touch of ground black pepper and cedar. Choreography delivers a fruit laden finish with sweet tannins and supporting acidity creating a racy yet elegantly refined wine. – GJ Fifty Dollars Per 750ml Bottle Click here to download winemaker notes (Adobe PDF format) Order online or download our wine order request form (Adobe PDF format) |
